We remodeled the basement, rebuilt the first floor and added a new second floor addition. We had to design the house within the existing building footprint to comply with Chesapeake Bay Critical Area requirements. We rebuilt the screen porch and deck to complement the new craftsman style house. We built a new garage and new entry porch which was just outside the 100-ft Critical Area Buffer. We made the existing entrance location work by removing the ceiling to open it up to the new first floor great room with a new grand staircase and interior balcony. We raised the first floor ceilings to 9-ft to allow for the transom windows and more comfortable proportions in the great room.
